Kantha Quilt
With their whimsical fabrics and hand-stitching, Kantha throws are fun, colorful accessories. For centuries in India and Bangladesh, Bengali women stitched together with old saris and cloth scraps to form blankets and cushions. This lap quilt is a vibrant, colorful whole piece cotton cloth hand-stitched with a running stitch in multiple #5 & #8 thick Perle cotton thread colors. Machine quilting was used with #12 thread to sew a few rows to ensure extra securement of the quilt. The Kantha is a big running stitch that
has a very soft, organic quality. The backing is solid grey & the binding is hand-stitched. Measures 41”W x 68”H.
