Blue Bird Reverse Applique, Hand-stitched Lap Quilt
Four layers of fabric with a cutaway reverse applique of birds and tree branch. the Top layer is a navy blue knit jersey to prevent fraying. The birds and tree top layer were cut away to reveal a blue and white floral cotton print. A layer of thin batting and then a navy blue tone-on-tone cotton backing complete the monochromatic quilt. The hand stitching was done using a thick ivory pearl cotton #5. The binding is handstitched to the back. Quilt measures 34”Wx55”H. Would be a great wall hanging, baby quilt or lap quilt.
